Gawai Dayak is an annual festival celebrated by the Dayak people in Sarawak to mark the end of the paddy harvest season. It is a thanksgiving day to mark a bountiful harvest and a time to plan for the new farming season and other endeavours. On this day, the Dayak community invites their friends, including those from other ethnic groups, to their longhouses to join in the merriment.
