Port Dickson

Negeri Sembilan

Port Dickson, fondly known as PD, is the perfect weekend escape for families, especially those coming from Kuala Lumpur and are looking to unwind by the beach. Once a quiet fishing village called Tanjung or Arang, PD underwent a transformation in the late 19th century when British diplomat Sir John Frederick Dickson recognised its strategic value along the Malacca Straits. Soon, it became a lively port and was eventually named in his honour.

Located in Negeri Sembilan, roughly 90 kilometres south of Kuala Lumpur and 30 kilometres from Seremban, Port Dickson is a renowned beach destination. It is easily accessible via major highways from Kuala Lumpur, boasting a beautiful 10-mile coastline of warm sands and calm waters that stretch from the town centre towards Malacca.

As a getaway destination, PD truly has something for everyone. History enthusiasts can explore the army museum, while families and nature lovers can enjoy the ostrich farm, lunar observatory, ornamental fish centre, scenic waterfront or interactive 3D art galleries. Further along PD’s scenic coast lies a historic forest reserve, which is ideal for wildlife spotting or hiking.

Whether you are in the mood for a beach day or keen to discover local sights and delights, Port Dickson promises a wholesome getaway filled with activities in extension to total relaxation.
