Key Information for Travelers to Malaysia.

Our Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the first batch of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines would arrive in Malaysia on February 21, ahead of the scheduled February 26 roll-out of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, that will take place in three phases.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin will be the first to be inoculated against the virus followed by 500 frontline healthcare workers, including security personnel in the first phase that will end in April.
The vaccines will then be made available to 9.4 million people in the second phase, including those in high risk-groups with chronic diseases and senior citizens at the age of 60 and above.
The third phase will run between May until February 2021 for the rest of adults in Malaysia, including foreign workers.
Meanwhile, our government has extended the COVID-19 restrictions by imposing Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0 in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Johor until March 14.
At the same time, several states are placed under more relaxed MCO with the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) reinstated in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Perak, Kedah, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu as well as Federal Territories of Putrajaya and Labuan.
The CMCO in Sarawak, however, is extended from February 15 to March 1. Perlis is the only state placed under Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), effective February 19 to March 4, in which almost all economic sectors are allowed to reopen.
According to Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, interstate and inter-district travel are still not allowed. However, people are now permitted to travel more than 10 kilometres from their homes.
As of February 17, another 5,709 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far in Malaysia, and the overall COVID-19 recovery rate is at 84.42%. At the same time, Malaysia also recorded 2,998 new cases, totalling 272,163 cases nationwide. The total deaths are 1,005 cases or 0.37% of the confirmed cases.
