Key Information for Travelers to Malaysia.

We are glad to let you know that our KL International Airport (KLIA) has recently been named as one of the world’s top ten airports in the global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey by Airports Council International (ACI) for the category of over 40 million passengers per annum for the year 2020.
This reflects our continuous commitment to increase our passengers’ confidence and satisfaction in our facilities and services even though passenger traffic remains low due to prolonged domestic and international travel restrictions.
Our government has announced that the enforced COVID-19 travel restriction, namely Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), would be extended from 19 March to 31 in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, Penang and Kelantan. However, the extension of CMCO in Sarawak has started effective 16 March to 29.
Meanwhile, the states of Perak, Negeri Sembilan (except Seremban district) and Kedah (except Kuala Muda & Kulim districts) will be placed under the more relaxed COVID-19 travel restriction, namely Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) together with Melaka, Perlis, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah as well as Federal Territory of Putrajaya and Labuan.
Interstate travel is still barred nationwide. However, starting 10 March, our government has given the green light for domestic tourism movement under targeted travel bubble within states under the RMCO with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs). This includes only using tourism agencies and tour vehicles registered with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (MOTAC).
Tour agency operators need to seek police permission for interstate travel, and the journey must be between RMCO areas only. Travelling crossing areas under CMCO is allowed with the condition without making any stops.
According to Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Langkawi Island in Kedah, has also been placed under RMCO since 10 March.
As of 16 March, another 1,365 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far in Malaysia, and the overall COVID-19 recovery rate is at 94.96%. At the same time, Malaysia also recorded 1,063 new cases, totalling 326,034 cases nationwide. The total deaths are 1,218 cases or representing 0.37% of the confirmed cases.
