We are pleased to inform you that our Federal Territory of Labuan has seen over 80 per cent of its adult population fully inoculated, resulting in the transitioning to the Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) starting 4 August 2020.
Another two states that will follow suit are Perlis and Sarawak. Under Phase 3 of NRP, cross-district movement is allowed, but interstate travel is still not permitted. Dine-in at restaurants will be allowed but limited to two customers per table.
Domestic tourism and creative industry will be allowed, but the opening of tourist attractions will be subject to risk assessments and strict standard operating procedures (SOP). However, entertainment activities such as pubs and nightclubs are prohibited.
As for now, five states – Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor and Kedah, including two Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, remain under the lockdown of phase one of NRP since June 2021. The other six states – Perak, Penang, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Sabah have transitioned to the Phase 2.
In Klang Valley, more walk-in vaccinations are opened for Malaysians and non-citizens from 2 p.m. onwards at eight selected vaccination centres starting 2nd to 22 August 2021 to ramp up inoculations drive. The eight vaccination centres are:
Malaysia has vaccinated around 44.3 per cent of the population with one dose, including 22 per cent who have completed both doses. A total of 21.7 million vaccines doses have been administered to date.
As of 2 August 2021, another 11,767 COVID-19 patients have recovered, and the overall COVID-19 recovery rate is at 81.81%. At the same time, Malaysia also recorded 15,764 new cases, totalling 1,146,186 cases nationwide. The total number of deaths is 9,403 cases or representing 0.82% of the confirmed cases.
