Key Information for Travelers to Malaysia.

The land Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL), which begins on 29 November 2021, allows quarantine-free cross border travel between Malaysia and Singapore up to 1,440 citizens, permanent residents or long-term pass holders using designated buses only.
Travellers entering Malaysia must be fully vaccinated, and unvaccinated children below the age of 12 must be accompanied by vaccinated parents or guardians. They need to register on the MySafeTravel portal and upload their Covid-19 vaccination proof. The registration is compulsory before any purchase of bus tickets can be made via www.causewaylink.com.my or www.transtar.travel.
The Malaysian-bound designated land VTL bus services will use Queen Street Terminal and Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange as boarding and disembarkation point in Singapore. The daily operating hours for buses leaving from Singapore is from 9.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Travellers entering Malaysia are advised to have adequate travel/medical coverage for COVID-19 related medical treatment and hospitalisation costs. They must undergo COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (ART) or COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Kit (RTK) or Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) 48 hours before departure.
Upon arrival at Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal, they are required to take a supervised COVID-19 antigen self-test. Travellers need to possess a valid national passport or internationally recognised travel document or Electronic Visit Pass (e-Pass), which proves that the travellers have stayed in Singapore for the last 14 consecutive days before departing for Malaysia. They must also have the contact tracing app, MySejahtera downloaded beforehand.
Meanwhile, travellers entering Malaysia via air VTL from Changi Airport Singapore to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) does not require MyTravelPass approval. Short-term visitors (including business and official travellers) need to purchase travel insurance with minimum coverage of RM100,000 that includes the COVID-19 related medical treatment (except for Malaysian, Malaysian permanent residents and long-term pass holders in Malaysia).
Travellers also need to take an on-arrival COVID-19 RT-PCR test at the BP Clinical Lab Health Screening Centre at KLIA. The latest government regulation requires VTL travellers (both land and air) to conduct a COVID-19 self-test on the third and seventh day of their stay in Malaysia. The results will have to be reported in the MySejahtera application.
The two-way air VTL between Malaysia and Singapore, which commences on 29 November 2021, starts with six daily designated flight services involving AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, Jetstar Asia, Scoot and Singapore Airlines. There is no capacity limit for the planes operating the designated services between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
As of 1 December 2021, Malaysia has fully inoculated 97% of its adult population or 77.8% of its total population, with 89.8% of youth aged between 12 and 17, received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Another 6,803 COVID-19 patients have recovered, and at the same time, Malaysia recorded 5,439 new cases, totalling 2,632,297 cases nationwide. The country’s COVID-19 death toll is 30,474.
